| My goal is to provide a vehicle for the mind's journey through deceivingly simple yet wonderously complex creations. My inspirations
are many, but generally fall under the general theme of substructures-
the fundamental components, the basic building blocks that constitute
the reality we percieve. Well, at least my particular take on reality,
anyway. |

My
work, for me, illustrates many things simultaneously. I am strongly
drawn towards optical art- art that plays on the nature of vision. Used
in conjunction with my other attraction- geometry and form- compelling
imagery spontaneously arises.
My desire is to generate thought,
to draw attention to the miraculous in the simple, to bring awareness
to what might otherwise be considered mundane. We take so much for
granted in this lifetime we are given. And while paying homage to every
small wonder we cross every day can become burdensome, the joy of
living increases the more this is done.

| My
other desire is to illuminate the interconnectedness of all things.
Each of my pieces is a connected whole, all parts contributing to the
entirety. Through this I hope to put one's place in the universe in
perspective as another strand in the fractal weave of life. |

I
have primarily stayed within a medium generally called 'string art'.
I've had some issues with this name as it simultaneously conjures up
images of 60's era nail-on-wood string sail boats and owls while
reducing what I do to the materials that comprise it. I prefer to use
the term 'Light Sculptures' as I consider what I do to be more about
the properties of the materials as opposed to what they actually are.
And all my work utilizes optical qualities of some sort. Check out my
